225 v-6 heads known to crack??

    Putting a 225 in the 5 and found out one head is cracked. Luckly had a spare motor and pulled the heads from it and I think I will hopefully have atleast two heads out of four to use. Are these known to crack? Thanks for the info. fdpwr2a

    No, I don't think so. But cracked heads are common on core motors. Scrap the cracked head and use what good ones you have. Unless you're going to use them without any parts or machining, always magnaflux for cracks.

    I've never had a cracked head in the many I have worked with over the years.

    A 231 OF core I got sometime back had one cracked head...and a spun rod journal that required weldup.
