warn overdrive

    I just completed my tranny swap and removed my t14 d18 with 10 spline warn overdrive (rear shift) I put in an np435 d18 with a front shift overdrive. Can I swap the overdrive housings and the shift linkage between the two to make a rear shift 6 spline overdrive? Then making the 10 spline overdrive a front shift since I will not be using it. I'm thinking the rear shift will be will be easier to hook up shift linkage and if need use a later d18 case like from the t14/d18 combo. thanks for any info before I just tear them apart

    It is easier and better to swap out the bowl gear assembly. You may also want to check with Herm, but I have done the bowl/spud swaps in the past and it is pretty easy if you pay attention.

    Reason - some of the parts can be picky on meshing back together if they are not exact.
