Is this a Good one to start with? or do i need to sell it to a restorer ;)
i was hoping to find something in rougher shape to convert to a more civilian trailer.
plans are 16" jeep rims, dana 30 spindles & hubs with rear 11" brakes, (for the parking and surge brakes)
12v lights (tail and cargo), tailgate. lots of other ideas but that is what I would need to use it.
thinking of dark blue and black trim to match the jeep.

  2. Looks to be in good shape, but I would go ahead with the mods you want to do to it. Start a build thread and keep the pics coming!

No way! Don't Hack It!!, why it's near perfect as is.
Just convert to 12v & clean it up, paint it as you like, leave the axel as is, you've got a park brake and it's not likely you'ld need the surge.
Just throw some fancy wheels on (but don't get rid of the orig. rims /tires) and if you must chop in a tailgate, then do it years down the road.

I don't believe in hacking anything that wasn't already hacked up.

That will be just fine with 12 volt conversion and repaint.

Thanks guys for moving this to builds!
I got enough short moments to post some progress
the landing leg was broken so I made an adjustable leg to replace it.
lights are mounted, I will run the wires after the frame is fully painted.
decided to paint the frame black, need to get some of the blue for the outside tub, black fenders.
I'm in the air on the inside of the tub, black is too dark, it will bake in the summer, the dark blue just don't feel right for such a large space.

I would love to make a steel cover with a bike rack, but steel is way cheaper back in MO so it will wait.
the passenger side (starboard) parking brake is not releasing well... not excited, because it might be a snowball.
