Prothane, Energy Suspension, etc. all good. They do make a difference. Make sure you use silicone grease on installation or they will squeak. I started using polyurethane bushings because I was wearing out rubber several times a year. After the switch I didn't have to change them out any sooner than once a year at the most. Usually they lasted two years. The last set have been in for almost 13 years.

I have the same Prothane bushing kit but my front shackle mounts are threaded? Will the threads eat into the new bushings?

Yes and you won't have room to install poly bushings. You would need to convert to "H" style shackles for these bushings. If your threaded style shackles and bushings are in good shape, they work quite well. If they are worn out then a good time to convert.
