    Hello All:
    Well I went and did it again,, just finished with my restore of a 74 and went out and bought another one.... couple parts missing on this one that I will start with I guess...need help locating them if any one has em

    Emergency Brake Pedal assay.
    Heater box Assy

    Its another 74

    PS:
    this one is a 4-speed, ,, does any one know if or why they where offered 3-spd vs 4-spd. t-14/ t15???????

    I think your probably best to list this in the classifieds section to get responces?

    As for gearboxes I believe that the T14/T15 are both original equipment 3 speeds for that era and the T176 didn't come out till later say 80 onwards, sounds as if someone previously has done a transmission swap? Is it cast iron or aluminium? If cast iron it could be a T18 (great) or a T98 (unlikley) if aluminium then probably a T176 (good).

    The housing is cast iron,,,, a magnet sticks to the bottom. Also there is a six bolt ovalure accesses plate on the forward left side,,, the stick has an offset in it??? does this help

    The optional 4 speed in '74 was the close ratio 4.02-1 first geared T-18. Sounds like what you have described. Check for a cast steel adapter between the bellhousing and transmission case. Should be 1" thick. This would be indicative of a stock T-18.

    In the Intermediate era the 3-speed T14 was standard for the 232 and 258. The T18 4-speed was optional and only available behind the I6 engines. The V8's only available transmission was the T15.

    Roger that:
    There is a 1" spacer between the bell housing and the tranny. T-18 it is I guess and glad to here it is original issue for this jeep.
