So, I've got Edelbrock shorties on my AMC 360 in my '74 CJ-6, and need the collectors/flanges for these headers. Does anyone have any suggestions, or even a part number?

Once we get the exhaust set up, I can get the body on the Jeep and start the re-assembly.

Also, it would seem this piece is not so universal after all.....or I'm searching all the wrong places. Here is what I have come up with:

    1) This is not a standard header flange.....it is a "stock" flange, which means it is designed to work with a stock exhaust system.
    2) A factory style Y-Pipe, available through some Jeep catalogs, made by Walker, Dynomax, etc. should fit the headers, but they are designed for the factory 3-speed tranny. I have a T-18 swapped in.
    3) The only aftermarket reducers I have found (found 'em at Summit) are labeled as 5.0 parts, for JBA headers on a 5.0 Mustang. These are made by JBA. Would these work? Looking at the picture, I would think they would....but at nearly $50 for the pair, I want to make sure.

    Any thoughts?

The stock y-pipe uses a flare on the pipe with a collar behind it, and a donut gasket betwen the flare and the manifold. Its a pretty standard setup for the vast majority of cars out there. If these headers are really designed to tie to the facotry exhaust, any exhaust shop with some custom experience sould be able to make you this part on a length of pipe that you can tie the rest of the system into.

A friend of mine made the manifold-back custom exhaust for me with off the shelf parts for the flanges. It was really a non issue.

Not me personally, but the brains and hands behind the buildup will be bending it up.

Have you talked to Dusty about these Alex? I would think he would be able to make what you need with the flaring portion on the bender.

Yeah....he didn't have anything in their catalog, so he was wondering if I had come across anything. He's prepared to put something together, he was just giving me the opportunity in case there was an off the shelf solution. I actually found one set in Summit that had the configuration these headers have. They were made by JBA and intended for 5.0 mustangs. Over on another forum, another guy had a problem coming up with the part as well. Curious....must be made of unobtanium?!?! He ended up using a Y pipe, as mentioned above. But.....he had a stock tranny. The T-18 is a little bigger, plus the stock Y-pipe looks as if though fitment was priority one, and flow second....damn thing looks like an accordion...no mandrel bends there! I will touch base with Dusty ASAP,

I have same headers. I took one up to my local muffler shop and the matched up a set of donuts and flared a section of pipe and gave me the two rings for like 12 bucks
