cj2a fenders on a cj5

Will cj2a fenders fit on a 56 cj5? Would a lot of fab work be needed? Or are they to far off. Would be using cj5 grill.

 

With a lot of fab work and if you have the skills, yes, but why in the world would you do that I gotta ask?

 

If you like the "flatfender" look you are better off building them from scratch or buying some built for the purpose. Modifying Flatty fenders will most likely be more work than building them.

 

Well I like the clearance and I have a set on my flatty and a spare set as well

 

I have a pair of modified CJ5 fenders on my 71' that John (Posimoto) clearanced prior to his rebuild and gave to me. I really like the way they look and work.

If those flatty fenders are any good, sell them and start out with fresh metal. You will be miles ahead building from scratch with sheet metal and tubing.

 

Those fenders look great. To bad mine on the 5 are fiberglass

 

Can later model cj5 flat tube fenders be easly shortened to fit the short legnth of my short nose?

 

you canstill cut fiberglass fenders to match the way Posi did it on those. That was a pretty popular trick on CJ's for quite some time.

 

Like the fenders. Did those get reinforced or were they just metal cut? Got any more picts, up close and personal?

 

No reinforcement, just the original metal. I'll see if I have some other pics floating around, I took a few for Posi after I got them from him for his new fenders.
