M38A1 d44 axles question

    any truth to what i heard about the military m38a1 d44 axles being full floaters?:?

    No. The 23-2 in the WW2 MB's and GPW's were ff. They were basically a ff rear version of the Dana 25.
    M38a1's were tapered 2 piece axle Dana 44's with 10 splines, at least the early ones. The later ones "may" have changed to 19 spline but I doubt it just from a logistics stand point. Some Marine Corps and possible Navy M38a1's were ordered with Powerlocks but these are scarce.
