Here are a few photos from a pet project of mine. I always wished I had a dipstick on the transmission so I could easily confirm my oil level. I screwed a galvanized pipe extension into the drain plug hole and attached a T fitting. The original drain plug went in the bottom of the T fitting and a brass adapter I found at Ace Hardware went in the top of the T fitting. The dipstick came from Advanced Auto Parts and fit perfectly and tightly into the brass fitting. I coated all of the threads with non-hardening Permatex. You can see that I ground the bell housing to make sure I had adequate clearance. But, someone with a little more time and creativity could probably avoid the grinding. I figure since the T14 shares oil with the D18, I should be able to monitor overall oil levels. This setup would have interfered with the original single stick shift, but works fine after the twin stick conversion. You will see the dipstick protrudes just behind the the passenger side valve cover.

That's awesome! How's it working out? Do you get consistent readings? Just wondering if the thicker 90w oil levels off accurately inside that fitting/tube...don't know why it shouldn't though. Did you have to bend the dipstick tube? Seems like a worthwhile modification--never hurts to be able to easily monitor things--I like it!

I haven't had it long enough to determine consistency of readings. The 90 weight seems to level off fine. The dipstick did not require any bending. I was able to use it with the original manufactured bend.
