Rocker arm clearance on 76 oddfire 231??

    I don't know if this is right, but there is about 1/16th inch play between the rocker arms and the shaft. Can this be right?? There are some pics in my photo album of the probem. http://photos.yahoo.com/enatman33

    Aren't they hydraulic lifters? Do you have adjustable rockers? The lifters have to be pumped up with oil i believe to remove the slop.

    That is not right, they are excessively worn, there should not be more than about .003"-.004" clearance.

    Wow... Time for new shafts/bushings there. That can't sound good when it's running
