    Hey guys,
I just finished replacing my ball joints on my 73. I re-installed the drivers knuckle without a hitch tightening them to the specific torque specs. When moving the knuckle from side to side it was stiff but moveable. When I did the same thing to the pass. side torqing it in exactly the same order I noticed the drivers side knuckle is considerably easier to move side to side. I seated both lower ball joints the same way by tapping them in with a hammer and then tightening the upper nut to 20lbs with the split ring removed as suggested in the moses ludel book. there are no visible gaps at the lower ball joints. I guess my question is, is did I install the knuckles right and is it ok if one moves more freely than the other. I just assumed they would be about equal. I can take pics if it would help. Thanks again

Procedure is to torque lower ball joint nut first, upper split seat, then upper nut. I have noticed sometimes a difference in how hard they are to move. I attribute this to manufacturing variations. Make double darn sure the ball joints are fully seated.

What is the best way to make sure they are seated?

Look at them and make sure there is no gap.
