Yeah those clips will probably be impossible to find. I may have to improvise for the rear panel. The other clips seem to be available in a few places though. Would be cool to find a supplier for the rear clips though. I am going to do some google searches.

You mentioned Packard connectors. Are you referring to the Packard vehicle? Is that the era of those clips? I have found some suppliers that provide similar looking plugs but I'd be curious to see if you know of a supplier. As for the loam you can get it from a company call Waytek - www.waytekwire.com. It's pretty close.

Another question regarding the harness. It is not clear in the book how it branches off in the rear. Do you know if the main harness branches off to the left and right taillights via plugs or was there a solder job there. It looks like there is weird plug in the parts book but I have never had a vehicle with the harness intact so I don't know.

By the way great work job. I want to do the exact same thing you did with the trailer plug so I can tow my fishing boat. Any thoughts or pitfalls to watch out for? It seems like a straightforward job to me.

Oh and one other question. Do you know if the fuel sending unit had a plug that plugged the short wire from the sending unit to the harness or was it a solid piece of wire from the harness to the sending unit? Thanks, Andy

The harness is layed out on the cardboard like it runs in the jeep. The wires run all the way from the connector at the master cylinder to the connectors at the corners.

The "packard 56" connectors are the type that AMC used at the time and the only place that still had any was NAPA.There is a little lock tang on the back

The gas tank had a wire with a connector. I recreated it just a little longer to facilitate reassembly.

Yea, rear side marker lights appeared like 70-71 IIRC.

Very neat joint. Do they all look that good? That's the advantage of working with new wire and new connectors. Hot iron, get in, get out.

    Thanks.
Most of the small gauge stuff looks like that.
I think my iron is only 35 watts so the main 10 gauge hot splice looks kinda fugly
