Ok, so I'm passing the time working on the dash while I wait for the new transfer case gear, and I have found myself with a couple of questions....
Someone added underdash gauges - clearly not factory. I'm planning on scrapping them all since they're rusted and faded anyway. There were two ammeter gauges, one oil pressure (with a small plastic hose coming from the engine), and a temp gauge (broke when I took it apart - something was pressurized). The factory gauges do not seem to be hooked up, and the oil light is constantly on. I know the fuel gauge doesn't work - don't have a sending unit yet.

Can I used the factory gauges with a Chevy 305? Do I need to buy a different type of oil sensor or temp sensor that will hook up to the gauges?

    Thanks!

You'll need the senders that are made to work with the stock gauges/lights. Will they fit the chevy? A few plumbing fittings may be required, at worst drilling tapping.

You better make sure the stock temp & fuel gauges are still operational, plenty of hits on Google on this very subject.

Great! Thanks! I'll check Autozone and O'Reilly's and see if they have them.
