d44 spindle studs

    Hi there. I am in the process of installing high steer knuckles on my d44 with disk breaks, and I wasn't able to find any realy detailed instructions on how it is meant to be done. In particular, the 6 spindle studs that are inserted through the back of the knuckle. Is there a certain way of holding them so they don't spin while I run the nuts on? They're not hex-head nuts, rather a circle with a flat side to it. Am I missing something obvious?

    Also, any info on torques for the whole process would be great, if anyone has them.

    They should be splined - I drive them in as far as I can with Large brass punch and 2 pound sledge. Then carefully tighten by hand the rest of the way.

    Yup, What Frank1669 said. They should go in snug but not have to be forced. A press works well for this if you have one. I like to support the face of the knuckle with a deep socket when I install them.
