driveshaft lengths

    I mocked up the rear end under the Jalopys new frame and I have a CJ5 rear driveshaft. It's a bit too long (about 1.5 - 2") and I was wondering if a flatty driveshaft is shorter than the CJ5 one. I can cut it down, but figured I'd check before I modified it.

    I think they are a bit shorter although I have never measured. But the 80 versus 81" wheelbase difference strongly suggests you will not come close to getting the 1.5 to 2". Better to just cut/weld to optimum length for your new suspension.
