I now have most of my custom body made up. the only thing is that I am not sure what is the best way to make the floors more ridgid. I made them out of 12 ga. steel but they still flex a lot (whick i figured they would) and now I wanna reinforce them. Should I run angle irons running side to side and then front to back or should I go with a square tube stock? I will see about making one of those pic pages so that I can post some pictures of what I have so far. Thanks guys. Zach

Square tube, C-channel, even angle will all work to stiffen the floors.

I was going to use the smallest c channel I could find for mine. I was going to spot weld it with the open to the bottom of the floor and mount the body bushings to the C channels to replace the orginal braces.

You could use the 16 guage spport channel JCW sells- it is the same shape as the ECJ5 stuff and sells for $11.99 for a 36" section. I used this in my neighbor's '74, and it worked great.

It is item D here You will have to use part # SN188169N for ordering purposes, and ingnore the "fits '76-'82" stuff on it, their online catalog is screwed up.

I ended up using 1x1x1/8 angle iron and I laid them down like /\ insted of like _| and it seems to be working very well and looks real nice to. I hope to finish the rest of the body this weekend and I really will make one of those pages to post all my pics. I am actually kind of shocking myself by how well it is turning out. I would not recomend build your own body to anyone unless you have another jeep to compare it to to give you a nice visuall effect to work off of.

BTW, I surely did not have that and it just caused a lot more brain racking.
