brake light switch

    i have a 69 cj5 with 2 pressure switches for the brake lights one in the engine compartment the other is midway on the frame under the drivers seat do i need both hooked up for the brake lights to work. the lights work if I cross the wires. also is there an after market switch than that I can run off the brake pedal?

    You could maybe adapt the one from a motorcycle to work. That is basically what they are. A spring-loaded normally off switch that is turned on by the pedal pulling on a really stiff piece of wire that pulls the switch into the on position.
