Looking for some help on what type of steering column is in my cj5. By looking through my photo bucket link of pictures below can anyone tell me what the steering column might have come out of. the jeep is a 1970 cj5 and i know it is not the stock steering and i have no idea what my dad got it out of. i have a broken turn signal lever inside the column and to replace the broken part i most likely need to know what type it is.some help would be great.

Looks like a Saginaw column used in Jeeps, GM's, etc. hard to pinpoint a year though from the pics. I would say an earlier unit. Could be from a car also like a Monza, Skyhawk, anything really. Can you get a pic of the electrical connector and a pic of the ignition key side? Might be able to tell more from that.

Doesn't look stock and Saginaw steering wasn't used until '72 when they started using amc motors in cj's and lengthened the nose. Saginaw column didn't start until '76 in cj's. Is there a spot on the column where there once was a key switch? If not that narrows it down to an early 70's or older car most likely

well that one does not look like mine ,it's too fat up top , that one has tilt too ?

I have a 68 Olds with a 4spd and those GM cars used no key in the column just the dash .

I was thinking Flaming River. Bottom part of the cover doesn't look like standard issue GM.

if you look at one of the photos i took before i installed the floorboard matting from the passenger side looking toward the drivers side you can see a square hole on the upper part of the column that looks like it could have been a key hole but to me the square hole looks more like it was maybe a hazard light knob.
