Local Junkyard has a Jeepster with a 225 (unknown condition) Auto (TH400?) and a Dana 20 (I think) First did the Jeepster come with a Dana 18? I cant remember if it did. Second, is a manuals trans swap feasible onto a 225 that had an auto. Is the heavy 225 flywheel still available, Would any rear drive BOP V6 bellhousing work?

You can put a 225 flywheel on the back no problem. They are not made new any more but one should be readily available. Put an ad in the classifieds is my suggestion. The Jeepster Commando did not use the 18 transfer case.

I'd recommend using a Jeep 225 bellhousing, '70 and older as '71 had a cast in adapter for the T-14 and will limit transmission choices. There are LOTS of differences in BOP bellhousings, some with the starter pocket on the right side, some on the left, some on both (can cause interference issues). Different clutch linkages, different transmission bolt patterns, different angles of the release arm (bellhousing is cast different), some that are pull and some that are push, etc., etc., etc.

yes te jeepster was 225/TH400/20 . the D18 wasn't used . the 225 crankshaft should have hole for pilot bushing . TH400 /20 is too long for 81" WB.and would need rear out of 72 or later. a BOP bell will bolt up . in my jeep bell was very close to master cylinder (BOP). flywheels might be listed here in forum.a trans swap can be done , but most are not a easy job with the buick V6 . like any job , time and skill are required ,my jeep went through many T14's just too weak , did have aTH350 in it for a few years . it was a swap I did cause , it was still daily driver , I do remember than rear drive shaft was only 14" long . that stayed till I did my restoration . and jeep had to be a stick . out went the auto in with 4 speed , very happy with it .

Thanks for the info, I know this is a cart before the horse deal, but I dont see to many 225 V6 in my neck of the woods.
Hoping to do a 225-SM465-D18. Im in an active hunt for a CJ-3B roller.

Guys, As Per forum Rules please put ads or offers to buy/sell in a pm, e-mail, or in the classifieds.

15.a Personal classified ads (your stuff for sale or that you wish to buy) belong in the classifieds portion of the web page not the forum. Ads in the forum will be removed. Ads for discussion are fine in CL/Ebay Discussion.
