Wiring for a 55 that is 12 volt

    I wouldn't waste my time with the diagram for 78 models; waaay too complicated for what you're doing.
    Here's one I found using the search function; although for a V6 it gives you an idea of what's needed. I think further searching would turn up more. The FSM has wiring diagrams, but the size is to small to recreate for you here.

    it's not that difficult to do from scratch
    I did my 2A back in the early days...twice.

    Thanks! I have done some searching. I even thought about getting the Kiser/Willys kit for $300, but that seems like a lot of money for a few yards of wire. Thanks again.

    In my searches I have not really come up with anything that has gauges and lengths. I will continue to look as I have time, but if anyone has a thread earmarked I will dance at your wedding.

    It is not likely you will find an early cj diagram that will give you the gauges or length. If you are going to make your own harness, then you can safely use 12 gauge wire for everything except the main ignition battery wire to the alt/gen which should be minimum 10 ga. Also I would use 10 ga. for the horn circuit. Sidscj is the simplest diag to follow. Are you runnin Alt or Gen? Are you running any extra accessories?
