About a month ago, I think I scored on a 65 CJ6a Tuxedo Park for $1500 from Craigs list. It was a Nevada jeep so almost no rust. If fact during tear down, every bolt but one unscrewed. Besides a 2" lift kit and wheels, I will be restoring it to factory new.

Excellent. Good place to start. And, is that a sidewinder winch? More pics of it if you would.

The retro sidewinder is an added bonus. I only have this pic of it prior to teardown. [IMG]

    I think that's a Hickey sidewinder winch.

Since the motor is still at the shop, I took the time to soda blast the drivelines and polish the chrome. Also narrowed the front bumber and picked up the seats. At one point the side shift T90 was swaped out for a normal shift T90. The column is still in place but I dont have the linkage to the tranny to the column or the shifter lever. So do I rebuild the normal T90 or get a side shift T90 from Herm and hope I can get those three parts????

That was a great score on that Tux. Probably one of the very few in that good of shape and that close to original. It looks like you are on your way to a resto that will make it equal to or better than factory. Good show. Jealous me. Walt.

Yes, this is very deal for you. And thank, Eric, for the Hickey ad. I remember seeing that ad somewhere as a youngster in one of my brother's books or magazines or something. Very cool.

Im still trying to rebuild the front driveshaft but received the wrong ujoints AGAIN. Now two different companies think the front and rear drivershafts use the same size. Anybody know the spicer # for the smaller front ones??Today I rebuilt the pedals on a new tube and they are factoy fresh. Thanks

TaKe your existing u joints into the parts store and have them matched by cap size, inside or outside rings and dimension across cross

It hard to say what somebody has swapped over the years. A parts guy is only as good as the information he is supplied.

Today I got my new air compressor setup and played with my new toys. I soda blasted for the first time and was not impressed. The soda was very weak and barely removed the paint at 175psi. So I brought out my new IR DA and sanded the missed paint. Also rebuilt the pedal pivot with some new parts and it pivots very smooth and tight. My engine guy hopfully tore down the motor today so I get to see whats inside and hear the damage[IMG].
