Why you don't flat tow....(pic heavy)

with the rear drive shaft connected.... This is a dana 300 but the same rules apply to a dana/spicer 20.

 

that's gonna take alot of JB weld.

 

I see nothing wrong. Well besides all the cracks and scorching of bearings.

 

I know why it applies to a 300 but why does it apply to a 20? I've towed numerous 20's hundreds of miles on dollies.

 

The Dana 300 don't splash lube the rear output in neutral without the front hubs locked in.

The Dana 20 does, Lots of flat tow miles here.

But my cousin's uncles little brother's ex-wifes sister's dad has been doin it all his life at 90 mph on the German Autobahn and he don't ever have any problems.

 

looks like you need some serious emery cloth....

 

wow Nick ,did he say how long he was towing before every thing self-destructed this is why I pull my shaft every time I go out ................uhhh that sounds funny .

 

No he didn't. He wouldn't comment on that....

A friend of mine had his Dana 20 do the same thing when he flat towed his 76

CJ5 a few years ago, he got a trailer after that.
