    Hi Folks!

I could be making a big deal out of nothing here but is there an easy way to straighten your steering wheel? After a couple of aftermarket columns, a little gearbox work and a new mounting brackets the wheel is totally tweaked.....totally aesthetic. 8)

    Thank you!

removing and re-installing a couple of splines over won't help?

most drag links have an adjusting sleeve that when turned, allows for steering wheel centering.

If you mean to align the steering wheel so the spokes are symmetrical or even, you can adjust the the length of the drag link that connects the pitman arm to the right side steering linkage, either shorter or longer depending on which way you want to rotate the steering wheel. Just loosen the clamps on both ends and turn the rod between them to get the desired results. You might need to apply penetrating oil to loose the threads between the threads of the drag link and the tie rod ends to get them to move. Just don't forget to re-tighten the clamps when you are done. If it requires a lot of turning in the lengthening direction, you have to be careful that you don't unscrew the drag link so much that you don't have sufficient threads left from the tie rod end into the drag link. If it requires too much adjusting, then you should remove and re-install the steering wheel as suggested in the previous post.

If the drag link is full of Rust, use a air hammer on it first to remove as much rust as you can, then ad the penetrating oil to lube the threads. If you do it before the oil tend to make the rust like a sponge and makes a easy job 10 times worse.
Just be careful not to hammer down the threaded "rods"
