Yup, in a previous life. All good now.

BigJohn, couple of tubes are pretty cheap. Let me know if you need help mounting them. I has equipment at work :). Can balance them too.

Ya Nick, I might just take you up on that. I do my own mounts/dismounts at home these days but I do dream of doing it hydraulic tire machines, lol. Your way sounds much more appealing.

No pic but take a close look at your right rear tire tread before you move your Jeep. You might see a stain on the tread.
    Someone marked their territory

Ya, sure enough Nick. Some JD drinking dog sure did mark its territory. What are tires for, right?

Quick update, the 5 should be to its new home (I moved last month) this afternoon. After two broken steel ramps, a bunch of tires and a winch, got the Jeep loaded last night into a large dump trailer. We only broke one hoaky d-ring off the trailer on the ride home. Anyway, the trailer is at the bosses house in town and should be enroute up here this afternoon. Lots of small things yet to do, but she does run and drive!

Replaced a few things, and thought about bleeding the brakes but I wil do that tomorrow. Need to pick up some steel for tranny crossmember. Would have got more done but with the NBA finals I was a little hampered. More to come!

Quick update, topped off the tranny oil, bled the brakes, gave her a wash and ran around the property a little with the shocks dangling. The manual disc brakes work really well, I think using even less pedal pressure to stop than the drums did. It was really good to get to drive it around a little for the first time in a long time.

    Thanks bud, Ill be there.

A little progress tonight. Seems like it took way longer than it should but got the rear shock mounts built and welded on. My welding skills are seriously rough but they are coming back now and the welder makes up for alot.

Shocks are in. Took her on a little jaunt up the back side of the property to the powerline trail. The better angle on the rear shocks made a pretty big difference with the ride stability and the powerlock works great.

This is a neat spot with a nice view of Camas and although the phone picture doesn't show, you can see to Downtown Portland.

Ah yes, few people appreciate a sunny day like we do, haha.

Update, she is 4x4 again. Built a new cross member that I was intending to be more low profile and solve clearance issues the stock crossmember but I made it a little TOO low profile. After building it, I realized it is too small for my liking. Built from 1"x2" 3/16 it is just too small, even with 1/4" corner gussets. So I think Ill try again with 2x3" tubing.

I keep forgetting to snap pictures, but I will-honest...

Thank the big fella upstairs I did not make the "Con". I have been working on a little rock garden on the property and while testing it out a bit the drive shaft got into the little skid plate welded to the bottom of the oil pan sump, breaking the welds and emptying the oil pan. It was still leaking oil when I discovered it thankfully, albeit not much. I dropped the pan, welded up the holes and cut about an inch out of the the skid to clear the driveshaft at full stuff.

At the same time the starter gear decided to strip. Again, luck would have it I bought the lifetime starter from Kragens a few years ago.

She is back together and running around the property again which is both great and helpful. I run this thing all over up here and now use 4x4 often both for work and pleasure. I am just thankful I did not discover these things on the Rubicon. I believe the cause was simply the righted pinion angle on the new front axle combined with the shackle reversal resulted in an altered driveshaft travel path into the oil pan skid.

One way or another, there are a number of things to ad to the to do list before next fall.
    -Hydraulic clutch
    -Roll cage
    -skids
-Seats-I think mine have finally had it, bottom drivers cushion is getting pretty uncomfortable
    -Build new tranny cover

I have a few small updates from the last month or so. It may seem small, but I send a lot of time in the Jeep running tools and fuel around the property or just working near the Jeep. I finally bought a top and installed tunes. The deck is pretty slick for me-bluetooth, pandora controls and of course the ipod shelf. Speakers were just some cheapo's off of amazon although they do sound good.

The top was like new. I found it about 250 miles north, but it was only $350 so I considered it a decent deal.

And whats inside instead of a CD player.

    And some budget speakers.

    And the top

Still plugging away at little things here and there but nothing too major. Mostly just using it at this point.

Oh ya, I also added a tow receiver to the bumper late last summer. I put together a spray trailer for shooting the fields with organic fertilizers and the boss picked up a 1200lb water filled tow behind roller and the Jeep impacts the terrain less and is more fuel efficient than the tractor so the receiver was added.
