Leaking Locking Gas Cap

    Had noticed that going up step inclines could smell gas from time to time.
    But the other day I had it park nose up and noticed a stream of gas hitting the back tire.

    I know the cap has to be vented so the tank doesn't get sucked flat or the motor starve for fuel. But you'd think it could do a better job keeping the fuel in the tank.

    Its a '66 with the original tank under the seat and a NAPA locking cap.

    never could get mine to stop leaking when on a angle or incline.....hopefully others will have a solution

    MTS tank with an MTS cap. Does not leak, period.

    I cut a piece of inner tube the same size as the gasket on the cap. Put that behind the gasket and it solved my problem.
