I have a '67 CJ5 with a Dauntless V6, T86 trans, and D18 T-case. That being said, I just had the transmission and transfercase rebuilt. The PO must have had the crossmember replaced for some reason, cause he had brackets made to relocate the factory trans and transfer case mounts so the t-case would clear the crossmember. I want to eliminate these dumb brackets and put it together stock. Where can I find a crossmember to put into this thing? I don't want to fab something up. I really am trying to put this back to stock.
    Any help would be great!

Did you try putting an ad in the classifieds? There's also a section at the top of the forum "where to find parts" that lists tons of vendors.

Note the original cross-member mounts to the back of the T-86 and has a special mount. There is also a small Z type bracket that bolts to the right side of the transfer to the X-member with rubber bushings (torque) and special bolt.

Can you post a pic of the rear engine suport crossmember and the transfer case mounting bracket ?
In case you don't know....The Dauntless equipped CJ's do not mount the transfer case the same as the F-134 version.
Dauntless powered D18 have two dfferent variations of transfer case insulators.
One version with T86 another with T14 transmission.

Late CJ rear engine support crossmembers are also different depending on a multitude of factors.
There are several variations depending on type of master cylinder and the transmission model.
Your 1967 CJ rear engine support crossmember should allow for two distinct sets of transmission insulator bolt holes.
One set of holes being foreward of crossmember CL the other set being aft of crossmember CL.
Also the 1967 rear engine support crossmember will include an engine cable stay bracket.

Here is a picture of the trans mount and the bracket that is installed to facilitate moving the crossmember forward so it will clear the transfer case. If this is the way it was originally installed, then I will deal with it, if not I would like to return it to factory. I also have the "Z" bracket for the transfer case mount. Thanks for all your input and help!

Yes, believe it or not thats the correct transmission support insulator and special bracket for T-86AA installation.

Thanks a lot for all your help. I would have never guessed that was factory. In fact, I had already tossed the "Z" bracket for the transfer case mount in my scrap metal barrel. Thanks again for saving me a lot of headache!!

I think Kaiser made a big and sloppy looking adaptation when they got away from the original version of transmission insulator.
The original transmission insulators were of a thinner design.

Same goes for the transfer case insulator.
Kaiser integrated an original front engine insulator to take the place of the special transfer case insulator and snubber.

The T86AA adaptation looks really tacky but believe it or not the T14 redesign looks even worse.
However, they both do seem to function alright.

I'm still racking my brain trying to understand these changes as they were made.
