so I was assembling my 225 v6 today and I went to put the starter on which came off of my 231 and the bolts were too long, about 1/2 inch. Is the 231 starter different? Maybe I grabbed the wrong bolts but i am nearly positive they were the same bolts I took off of the blown 231 I had in the jeep originally.

Same starter. Got both on a shelf and they are the same.

ok I figured it out. the block unthreaded portion of the bolt actually goes up int the block about a 3/8".when I hand threaded them in it felt super tight. if that makes any sense. thanks guys
