Why don't you run a dedicated ground wire to the wiper motor? Put a ring connector on it and bolt it to one of the mounting bolts. Run the other end to a good ground on the body (is it steel?) or chassis. The body of the wiper motor normally grounds to the windshield frame through the mounting bolts.

Please explain this a little further.

If you run a ground wire, it will work. You can choose to run a wire or strap from the windshield to the frame, or run a wire directly from the motor case to the frame. You have no alternative.

If there is something wrong with the motor, a different ground will not help. If your wire is somehow failing by breaking, corroding or whatever, then you need to improve your wiring technique.

When I dropped the fiberglass body on my '74 CJ, I desided to fix the ground issue once and for all.
I ran a ground wire from my fuel tank, tied in my tail lights, ran it up split it off to the bottom of the metal dash, tied in the front lights in the metal fenders, engine, alt and batt.
I tried to ground eveerything twice!
I used a 10 gauge wire as the main feed and branched off with 12 gauge, soldered, used those shrink tubig and sealed the ends of that with silcone. (I ran a GREEN wire, so I know it's ground, like a house instead of a black which seems to be everywhere in my wiring harness).
Ran a wire to the new metal windshielded frame and one to the wiper motor.
So far, (knock on my wooden head), I haven't had a ground issue. (even my dash lights are working!)
I've learned from owning a pile of ol' British bikes, you can't have enough ground wires.
Make sure you clean off the area your grounding to to BARE metal, (I learned that after taking out a ignition box on my ATK off road motorcycle).

When in doubt, run another wire and curse! The best jeep is a scared Sheetless jeep! Works every time!chainsawguy
