Going to redesign my rear bumper/tire carrier. Since my bumper is already round tube, i kinda wanted to stay with the round tube "theme" as it were. I noticed most tire carriers are built with square tubing. Does anyone think it's a disadvantage to use round tubing for one. I am going to use .120 wall tubing, which I would think if it's strong enough for a roll cage it should be strong enough for a tire carrier.

It's going to be a swing out design, that attaches to the bumper.

    Any thought or suggestions? Thanks

good thing i did not post that because worth you beat me to it with that pic AGAIN!. also i have seen it where only the bottom of the swinging part is square. guess it is easier to put the hing and stuff on square then round.

:D Good point. I didn't mention that. All the bottom part is square.

I think most are square because they do not require a bender or multiple weld joints to get a bend. I can miter square tubing at 45* to get a nice 90, but that would look goofy on round tube. So you would either need a bender or weld in a pipe fitting. Just my guess.

I think that a rear bumper similiar to your front but with a swingout on top would be 8)

Love it. I think it is still limited to 31" tires though. I don't have any plans to put anything larger on 615 so it works for me.
