Dana 25/27 question

I hope you guys can clear up some confusion for me... It's my understanding that a Dana 25 axle has 8 ring gear bolts, and a 27 has 10 ring gear bolts... Is this correct??? I've been searching high and low for 27 gears and everything I've seen that's advertised for a Dana 27 has 8 ring gear bolts.... I've also had people tell me that the 25 had 10 and the 27 had 8. Someone even told me that Dana 30 had 10..... It doesn't seem possible that everybody is wrong... :? I'm soooo confused!!!!

Dana 27 and dana 30 have 10 bolts, the dana 25 has 8 bolts. We do have a member on here who has a dana 25 axle with 10 bolts on it, but this is not the norm. What ratio do you need, I think I still have a set of 3.73 gears in the garage.

 

Thanks guys, that's what I thought. I guess nobody out there really knows what they're talking about. I guess I'll just keep looking............

Are you looking for 4.88's for the Powerlok I sold you? I have a D27 axle sitting in the back yard that came out of a 69 CJ5 with 4.88 gears. I could probably inspect it this weekend if you are interested. I'd be willing to sell just the ring and pinion if they are in good condition. PM me if you're interested.
