    What is the purpose for the "outrigger post" on the side of the dash mounted ignition switch? (74 CJ5) It looks like a pen cap cast into the side of the metal switch housing

    My 75 has that same switch, good question! All I can think of is maybe a light. Don't know. If it were a light, don't know how you would see it. May be that same switch was used on other vehicles .
