My drivers seat sets lower than the passengers seat.:?:?

Is that common for the 69 CJ5?

My '66 was like that, the driver's seat about 1 1/2 lower than the passenger seat.
The yellow '70 had spacers about 1 1/2 long on the bolts mounting the seat to the bracket that I suspect were original.
I would bet many owners took those spacers out to get more lap clearance from the steering wheel.

The drivers slider rail is about 1-1/2" high... Does yours have one?

Not sure when the driver side seat adjuster appeared, but my '70 didn't have it, my '71 does..

edit> Both of these are non-Tux Jeeps. My dad's '67 Tux has it, but it's the split bench.

My '69 driver's seat was lower also. I fabricated a couple of oak strips (spacers) to place between the mount and the seat to get it even with the passenger seat. Seems like it may have had a short spacer (less than an inch) to start with.

My 70 has always been lower since I bought it 10 yrs ago. Find it's nice to give me more room between myself and the wheel. Dunno if it came that way from the factory or not.
