radiator support/sbc

    Just a few pics of this spanning about 6-7 years and perhaps some ideas for someone. There are a number of things that have changed from the last photo, but not the Version II mount.

    This ended up with the top support behind the radiator for the simple reason that there was no room in front and I wanted to use the stock GM rubber mounts when the cross flow radiator was installed about 1980. The frame mounted support is 3/8x2" 6061 aluminum and all home built. Version I, with a 4 row Modine brass radiator:

    The aluminum replacement radiator did not have tanks ameanable to the GM mounts so the soft urethane (McMaster-Carr item) mounts were fabed for it.

    Both bottom and top ureathane "pucks". The indent at the base of the left side was necessary to clear the steering box shaft.
