So I am in the process of customizing my dash on my 74 cj5. I have purchased a few new gauges and chose to keep the original style speedometer. The new gauges have a blue backlight for driving at night and that made my stock gauge look boring. for 12 dollars i purchased a set of blue led lights pre wired and flexible intended for accent lighting on the outside of your car. I put them in my speedometer housing and they look awesome. check it out.

I like that. Where do you get the LED strip light? Is it the stuff they sell to go under cabinets?

I have a strip behind the grill, same stuff. ebay. Cheap, too. The short strip I have is about 3 or 4" long and has been there (right in front of the radiator) for several years and still looks/ works fine.

No. There is one bank of LED's on each side pointing down, lighting up the inside of the grill. Just because. I've had blue lights behind the grill(s) of my vehicles for many years.
