Well found some time to work on the jeep today, putting the left front side back together. My question is after following the fsm procedure for installing the steering knuckle, the knuckle seems to turn too easy.

I know there is a spec for maximum effort but can moving too easy cause problems?

    Thanks,
    Jeremy

Shouldn't be an issue as long as the ball joints are in good shape and there is no play anywhere. Are these new or used ball joints? Sounds like they could be worn.

You did torque the ball joints starting with the bottom nut first, then the tapered seat on top, then the top nut last and used a torque wrench right?

They are new ball studs, and yes i followed that procedure. The old ones were really tight, so it hard for me to judge how the new ones should turn.
    Thanks Nickmil,

If you followed the procedure it should be okay. I noticed the same thing when I replaced mine. But then I tried to make the old ones move around after I took them out and realized why it was so stiff to begin with.
