Theese are cracks in the hat channel on the front body mounts. I was going to grind the cracks down, weld them then plate over them with 18 gauge sheet metal to strenghen them. do you think that is going to work, or should I just cut them out and replace them?

I agree with above. Looks like they are solid enough. Probably bad body bushings or lots of frame flex causing that.

Fix those, they are still solid looking.
I like your idea of welding up the cracks, then putting another piece of 18 ga over the top of the channel. I would drill some holes in the new 18 ga and put a series of rosette welds to hold the new to the old.

Only problem I see with plating it is it might hold that side of the tub that much higher? Probably not a big deal but something to consider. When I fixed mine I just didn't see where there was that much stress there and that's why I chose the fix I did

I am planning on plateing over all the holes where the body mounts to the frame, and drilling holes in the new plate for the bolts to pass thru. I know this is probaly over kill. I was also concerned with the height diffrence , thats why I figured on doing all mounting holes.
