Anyone know what the range of years for valve covers that will fit a 1973 258 6 cyl?

All the stamped steel 232/258 covers from mid 1970 through 1980 will fit the head surface. I expect the earlier engines (the 199/232 engines) will alo fit. There will be differences in the configuration of the top holes though ... the parts book shows three different part numbers from 1974 through 1980. The second number (76-79) supercedes the first number (74-75) and 1980 has its own number.

258s from 1981 on have a different, plastic valve cover which will not fit.

    Thanks Tim,
I think I could change the cover top plumbing to fit the year of the one I used. The main thing would be the mounting bolt hole configuration. So as you said, I should be OK with any of them up to 1980.
    Thanks for the input. :tea:
