    In my opinion the SM420 is bulletproof. Two friends with early CJ's ran them and convinced me to do the same. One was behind the 225 V-6, the other was behind a small block Chevy and I've driven both. So I found one, had it completely rebuilt, added a new AA T-18 adapter and now it sits in my garage. Health issues has forced a cancellation of the swap so the tranny combo is for sale. $1000.00 + frt from calif.

    Around here T-18's with the 6:1 1st gear are very hard to find and must be made of gold!
