I am finally getting back to this. I bought the wreck from bob-n in July. V6 Dauntless with TH350 and Advanced Adapter to T-Case. I am swapping this in to my 57 in place of the F134. Question is how do I get clearance for the front drive shaft. The former owners did not have a front drive shaft mounted. There is not enough clearance for the front u-joint on the T-case to spin if the drive shaft is mounted. the oil pan from the tranny is in the way. The problem is not the front shaft but the u-joint. The guy I have talked to about building new drive shafts has suggested rotating the T-case to drop the output shafts. Is this what others have done or are there other options? If I rotate the T-case how do I adjust the shift lever?

I'm no expert on this, but I *think* the Dauntless-equipped Jeeps with an automatic had smaller front yokes and a driveshaft that was smaller in diameter than the 4-bangers had. I know, it sounds ***-backwards, but that's what they had to do to make it all clear the tranny pan. You're probably looking for parts from a Commando to make it work.

I'm sure someone else will chime in to confirm this or to tell me I'm full of crap. :)

Yes, use the smaller yoke from a V6 Jeep. My Dad is running a T350 in his, and it clears. Just make sure to mount the motor 1" to the driver side, like the factory did, and you might have to raise the front of the motor a bit to help clear. dad raised his motor an inch, using motor mounts from Advance Adapters.........HTH

Seems like I've heard that the oil pan can be modified as well...
