Last one I saw went for $300 - Friends here get a HUGE discount... Make me an offer of what it's worth to you and we'll work something out.

I will need to keep the Tcase, but everything else (Tcase adaptor to nose) would go with it.

Hmmmmm.... I won't know for a bit. A guy is trying to trade me some cash and a 61 Chevy pickup for my racecar. I'm considering turning the p/u into a 4x4 if this all happens...... There is a fine line between hobby and mental illness......

Best thing I ever did was remove my M21 and replace with SM465. Now I feel like I can offroad. First gear of M21 is like 2:20, whereas the 465 has like a 6:55 first gear.
I am also running 5:38's in the diffs, so I couldn't imagine what 4 wheeling would be like with a higher gear if I still had the M21. What are you using the jeep for? Street, rocks, mudding?

I went from this.....which used a standard universal type 4 speed shifter (sorry no shifter pic

Um, JohnnyJeep, that isn't a Muncie in the first pic, it's a Saginaw 4 speed. Muncie's and T-10 car 4 speeds have reverse shifter in the rear output housing, or when adapted, in the adapter housing. Saginaw has reverse in the main case just like you show there. There are 4 different first gear ratio's stock that are available for the Saginaw. I happen to have a wide ratio in the one in my CJ-5 with a little over 3.8-1 first gear and still can bang gears in the sand. Can't do that with a truck tranny. It depends on usage. If running a lot of hard trails or rocks, then truck tranny is the best way to go. If needing to shift quick then car style tranny's are the way to go. JohnnyJeep is right though, most Muncie car tranny's, M20, M21, and M22's do have a lousy first gear of between 2.8-1 (wide ratio) to 2.2 to 1 (close ratio). Had a close ratio T-10 in my CJ-5 for a while and hated it, even with 5.38 gears. Nickmil.

Is there any concerns of a Muncie being too long for lifted Jeeps and rear driveshaft angle?

The Muncies are valuable little items to the hot rod crowd.

With the 18 transfer case it's really not too much of a problem. With a 20 or 300 transfer case it can be an issue (centered rear output, up high). I didn't have problems with drive shaft angle when I had the T-10 in there, (about the same length as a Muncie M 21), just lousy gear ratio. I have a 2 1/2" lift also. Nickmil.

I actually knew that, :D I was just trying to save myself some typing time, since I knew the Sagi and muncie trans' were both close in ratio and shifter setup. Of course that Sagi is pretty heavy compared to the Muncie. ;) Sorry for any confusion this may have caused

I have the M21/18 and have no problems with driveshaft angle. Just what Nickmil said, terrible first gear. 4:88 and 33's doesn't help.

Gotta a SM420 on the way, so will have a Muncie with linkeage for sale hopefully around the first of the year.

Thanks guys, most of what I read here answered some of my concerns/questions. I have a Muncie in my CJ-5, and was wondering what most of you thought.
