Gerald, post the measurements of the original (sheath length, cable length) and I will compare to the one in my CJ-6.

I would have guessed that the '76 CJ-5 or CJ-7 part with the 258 and 1V carb would fit. Are you sure you have the one for the 1V carb? The later 2V carb has a very different linkage, and I suspect it would be the wrong length. The USA 258 would have the 2V carb in 1979.

Another possibility is to buy a hot rod accelerator cable from Summit Racing or Jegs. These can be cut to length.

    or.....................
Look at a few motorcycles and see if a clutch cable would be able to fit with some mods.
If you have the orginal sheathing, a motorcycle cable might be able to slip right in and all you have to do is make a of ends, (or alot of bike shops have ends available)
That worked well for with me with a 70's Pinto 2000 cc motor in a CJ2, a few years ago.

With some thought, you can make ANYTHING work!:)

When I swapped carbs I used my original cable for the 1v . It was about 12" too long so I cut it to length from the pedal end by removing part of the sheath. I removed the grommet that goes into the firewall and drilled it out a bit so the sheath would fit in and glued the sheath in with epoxy. I used a cable stop at the pedal after I got my measurements then cut off the excess.

You know, they look like Chevy cables. If you have a real parts house close by you might get the counter guy to see what they have that is close. Napa has done that sort of thing for me many times in the past.

Is that a problem? Just kidding.

Those look almost identical...except for the upper section where it looks like the sheath on the right hand one is a bit longer.

Do you have any local auto parts stores in Austria or does everything have to be done via Internet?
