Ya im purdy bummed out about not making it this year, i want to go SO bad but I just wont have enough time to get a sound mind over the jeep. Wont be done for about another two weeks which leaves me right at 3 weeks or so to make sure everything is sound. If it was a large "bolt on" build then i wouldn't be so cautious but with the amount of fabrication and adapting work I have had to do, I would rather just play it safe and run the con next year with the group.

Got a question...I filled up my diffs with fluid yesterday and once I got to the rear, somthing didn't seem right. since my axle is angled up now, it puts the fill hole lower then it usually would be which means I cant put the proper amount of fluid in the rear end...im going to guesstimate a half a quart or so. Will this cause an issue?

Normaly the pignon must be in touch with some oil. For the rear if you want to make sure you have enought oil lift the rear of the jeep as much as possible so you will be able to fill the axle with the correct amount of oil.

Today, i finished up the brakes and got everything bleed and got all my suspention tightened up AND.................TOOK IT FOR ITS FIRST TEST RUN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Tranny whines like the dickens though...I mean loud enough to drowned out the open exhaust of a 304 but it is starting to shift a lot easier so im hoping that after the next flush it will start going away. Im going to drain it again and fill it with tranny fluid and run it for a few miles then flush again with tranny fluid, drive a few miles then fill back up with gear oil. Hoping that tranny fluid (which is a GREAT conditioner) will help everything out. And for the brakes....I LOVE LOVE LOVE that YJ brake unit. Stops that jeep on a dime and feels great!

got a few more odds and ends crossed off today. Got the exhaust tacked back into place (cant weld that thin, having brother in law do it tomorrow), set my tow for the front end, tuned up the carb and re-set timing (was running really rough but smooth as palsey now) and put in a new fan clutch. Going to try and fix one more part of the frame support and install a couple forgotten bolts and I will be ready for try her out. I will post pics soon as I can remember to get my camera.

Oh I will for sure. Prob is, I may be wheelin solo and if so, I will have to be my own camera man which may or may not work out too well. Here are a few pics from today, mainly of the breaks and my tow bar which I finished yesterday.

Wow, it is just about there! Congrats and good luck on the Victory run!

Look out for that rear brake line, that could end badly;)

The braided line or hard line? The hard line (if you look close in the pic) is bolted down to my spring plate so it cant go anywhere. The braided line looks bad because the exhaust was loose so I could move it out of my way when I was fixing my frame, once tightened back up, the exhaust is about 5 inches higher and bout 3 or 4 inches inward toward the driveline so as of now, nothing is close to the braided line. And thanks!!! Pulled it out today and hooked it up to the truck...headed for his maiden voyage tomorrow morning. i will post pics and video (if any) in the trail ride section under my lagrange thread.

Just came back from first shake down run. I posted in the trail ride forum in my thread (La Grange 2012) with pictures and videos (if photobucket hurries up and downloads them already). Here is a list of what I need to fix:

Front passenger spring is sagging a good inch lower then front driver spring.
Top of carburator which covers the bowl gernaded on me...dont ask me how this happened becuase I have no idea and will be posting in the tech section with it.
    POWER STEERING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
    New heater core
    Fan shroud
    New starter solinoid
Re-bend my shifter (hits seat in 2nd)

Pretty short list so far. Bummer about the spring sagging. A good spring shop could probably re-arch it, but you'd probably have to give them both front springs. There's sill a lot of Summer left. At least for you guys down in the flatlands. ;)

Ya im glad nothing big happened but that carb exploding on me and the jeep running like garbage prior to that when it ran so beautifuly yesterday...is really bumming me out. Im going on almost 2 hours for photobucket to upload 19 pictures and 3 videos I took today...not helping the bummed feeling what so ever.

Yes everything was the way it should have been. It was running rough a couple days before i went so i did some tuning on the carb and my timing and they jeep ran perfect before I went to the park. It even ran great at the park for the first minute or so then it went to crap.

Ya, my springs did the same thing to me. First trip out or so and now she leans to the drivers side making me seem larger than I really am, haha.
