I have a 1973 CJ5, it has good engine, but a beat up body and no windsheld. I paid 500 for it. I have two 76+ cj5 that are parts jeeps. Is there anything that will transplant to the 73 model. Will the fenders, hood, seats, or dash work in the 73. Not saying just complete bolt on apllication to the 73, but with minimal fabercation, will these things or what will transplant. Thanks for the help. I dont current have the two 76+ cj5 to compare, just want to know if anything will, if not I just want go get them.

All of the above items will swap over with just a little futzing around. Dash will fit but steering column will be needing some sort of bracing unless you bring over the later steering column too (which is not a bad idea if you swap over power steering).

The seats will work but the holes for the brackets won't line up. Plus the passenger seat does not fold, so no easy access to the toolbox.

As mentioned, the dash will fit but the layout is different, and the steering column has to be adapted somehow.

Let me see if I can list what is the same:

    Front axle, but different ratios.
    Engines.
Transfer case, but a different shifter.
    Grille, hood, fenders and cowl.
Outside body metal - with some slightly different details. Floors and wheelhouses are different.
Tops will fit if you switch to the '76 windshield - I covered this in another post.

They basically kept the external appearance and changed everything else.

For the little parts, your best bet is to look it each part on one of the Jeep retailer's sites and see if also fits your year. Most of the little stuff is different too,,,

    Lift will fit as well.

the 76-86 5 and 7 use the same springs 72-75 you would need to change the frame spring hangers.
