I started this project last June and over the weekend I installed the engine (360), tranny (T-18 ), and 3.15 t-case (20).
For axles I have an 86 CJ rear 44 w/full Detroit and a narrowed front wagon 44 w/Spartan locker and 4.10 gears. The frame was painted in RE with BDS 3 ½” springs. I understand the 77 CJ5 is a newer style Jeep for this forum but I thought I’d share anyways.

Looks great so far. And hey, a Jeep is a Jeep. Great drivetrain choices too.

Looks good to me. Did you use a standard mount for the tranny on the skid plate or did you have to make something? I'll have a 401/T18/D20 so I'd like to see what you did.

I bought a kit from Crown that replaces the stock tranny and torque plate mounts. I don't have the part number handy but it shouldn't be hard to find.
