I'm trying to sell this, and all I have is an invoice from the previous owner, showing that a limited slip was installed in the rear axle, and a locker in the front axle. Can anyone ID these from the pics? They are both Dana 44 axles from a 1970's Wagoneer. 4.72 gears.

    Thank you in advance.

Front could be a Mini Spool. Definitely not a Lock Right and doesn't look like any Aussie I've seen. You should be able to see where the teeth mesh on the Lock Right or Aussie.
The rear is definitely a Powerlock as mentioned. It's not a locker, it's a limited slip. One of the best built IMHO.
Are you sure they aren't 4.27 gears instead of 4.72 gears?

Not a mini-spool, concur that it's not a Lock-Right (I installed my D30 Lock Right). A spool wouldn't have springs and they're a one-piece affair. This looks like it has multiple pieces. A Lock Right doesn't have big orange exposed springs. It's some kind of locker similar in function to a Lock-Right but not the same brand.

Maybe one of those ez locs or whatever it was called that was like a loc-right but the teeth were finer and wasn't it even built by the same company that builds loc-rights. I don't think it is an Aussie locker either but I could be wrong.

Not an Aussie Locker either. I just bought one for my D44 and it looks just like a Lock-Right, with the teeth visible and small springs. I've never seen any like the one in the pic.

Thank you for all the input so far!!!

Has anybody installed a Yukon/Spartan? Mine looks similar to this one...There was a good write up in JP magazine that I saw praising it. The rear LSD looks like the Yukon/Spartan brand also (of coarse these all kind of looked alike in the first place. Anyone have first of second hand info on this brand?

I'm going to pull them out into the sunlight tomorrow, and look for numbers. I'll post more pics/info if I find anything.

Mini spools replace the stock pinion and side gears but use the stock differential case and are multiple pieces. A full spool indeed is one solid piece.

Spartan locker is a copy of the Lockright/Aussie locker. If you look you can see the teeth exposed which you can't on the one you showed a pic of. I haven't used one so can't comment on quality.

Rear definitely a PowerLock as noted above. The front is some sort of Lunchbox Locker, but I have not been able to find any pics of something like it. Doesn't appear to be a LockRight, PowerTrax, Detroit EZ Locker, an Aussie Locker, QuickLok.

Remembered this from my Z car research years ago. Appears to be a Phatom Grip best I can tell. Although not exactly and they don't show a Dana 30 application on the one site I found.

Could be a Detroit E-Z Locker, thats what Im running but it's been so long since I put them in I forget what they look like other that they are similar to the Loc-Rites. Could also be a Yukon.

I googled images for all of them, and non of them have the same side profile or large, colored springs that his pic has. The mystery continues!
