Can anyone confirm this to be a '72-'75 CJ hood hinge? I have two sets I'm going to use on various Jeeps here but just curious. Note they don't have the slots and flats like the early's I'm familiar with and are definitely not '76 and newer as they are cast. Thanks for any info.

Yeah, the intermediate hinges are beefier than '76+, but lack the slots to remove the hood that the early hinges have.

other than the color, it looks the same as one of the hinges on my '75. it has the hole to lubricate the pin. the only thing i can't tell is whether the "hood" portion is correct, since it's hard to determine its length relative to anything. however, it looks correct.

i believe the hinge you've shown is for the driver's side.

Thanks guys. It was more of a curiosity/confirmation thing on my part. They are dimensionally the same as the slotted Early CJ's. I've found that these fit much tighter together so hopefully they will minimize hood rattles on a couple of my Jeeps.

My '73 has the slotted hinges and flat pin. They look lot like my fiberglass door hinges.

Thanks for the info. I just bought two pairs of just the cast side to use as lower door hinges for my half doors. Didn't know what their vintage was, knew they would look similar to the cast slotted early hood hinge and tailgate.

For hood rattles you might check 67-79 Ford truck Tailgate Support Retaining Bumpers C4TZ-9944482-A in the Dennis Carpenter catalog page 94 of 182. Removed a set from my Dad's pickup bed trailer and they look like they have a nice profile for snubbing the hood.
