E brake

    The early cj transfer case brakes were never designed to stop the vehicle in an emergency situation. They were parking brakes, and they were not very good at that.


    A mico brake requires pressure from the master cylinder to be applied then locks that pressure in place with a stop valve. Therefore, it is just a parking brake also.

    A true emergency brake can be had since you have a later axle. Hook up the shoes to a good mechanical advantage lever like a foot applied or a 90* lever arm handle and your good to go.

    seriously, I think you should use the rear "E" brake cable setup on your current rear drums. lot less work. though, in the meantime. a level works better then a "brick" R)
