1974 Renegade hood ornament

    Was the bulldog the only hood ornament? I did the search but did not find it in archives. Where would I find one? Ebay?

    The bulldog wasn't a factory thing, just a popular addition years ago.

    I apologize for what I figured was common, but I could not find it searching.

    My CJ had the hole and "bump" around it when I bought it, and looked like a factory provision for an ornament. Was something else put there by AMC and the hole commonly later used for the Mack dog?

    Also, I understand now, as my music teacher in junior high back in the early 80's had a CJ5 with a gold panner on his hood.

    No factory hood ornament on any CJ AFAIK.

    So, this was just a trend? Was there something else put into a hole for another purpose? It just looks like the hole was cleanly made and the bump it is centered in. Oh well. Now I have to put something there to make it period correct... a Mack dog would be nice. Or a JC Whitney dog with those freaky glowing eyes.
