1975 cj5 renegade build

    I want to get rid of the rivets and weld in a new piece. Should i drill the rivets out or gring them and maybe punch out? Im gonna need some help here? :?

    Those appear to be blind rivets (commonly called pop-rivets). You can try drilling them out. This usually removes the head portion and the entire rivet will then spin in the hole. Then try knocking them out with a punch. Since you should have access to the back side of these rivets, you can pull them out with pliers as well.
    Since the repair sheet is probably sacrificial, a big grinder would make fast work of removing the rivet heads. Then knock them out the same way. That just might be faster.

    Thanks! I think im gonna speed things up a grind them flush. I dont know why they put such a big patch piece on. the original panel looks like it was going just at the bottom, but when i get this off i will have a better idea of what was there. [​IMG]

    You can grind the heads off then punch them though with a small punch.
