I finally got to test-wire the rear lights and brake switch yesterday. It took the whole day to get the brake lights and turn signals to properly work. It's almost there and the only thing holding it back from being perfect are the hazard lights.

I have the ez wiring harness and an intermediate sparton turn signal switch. The turn signal switch has the "pyramid" type harness with six wires. I have a separate switch on the dash for the hazard lights. The problem is when I switch on the hazard lights, only the front lights flash. Does the sparton switch have the capability of 4 way flashing? or do I need to do some kind of modification to get the 4 way flashing to work?. I've tried jumping the "flasher" wire to the "brake switch" wire hoping that it would trigger the rear lights as well. yeah, it triggered the rear lights but the lights flashed even if the hazard switch wasn't switched on. I hope this hazard light problem doesn't kill my whole day today...

    any ideas?

What is a pyramid type harness. I know of 7 wire, 4 wire, 3 wire w/relay box but the 6 wire pyramid harness sparton really throws me. Can you show pic pls. We can figure this out as it is only electrical switching.

not sure what the proper name is but it's the type below...

Based on another thread I've read, the wires are supposedly:

    top row = right rear
middle row left = brake switch
middle row right = left rear
    bottom row left = flasher
bottom row middle = right front
bottom row left = left front

I have it wired based on the above information. Can't figure out why the hazard isn't going to the rear. Thanks

You have the seven wire switch. Go to the top of this page and click technical and go down to electrical and then click on wiring for 225 and f134. Use either schematic as they are both the same for what you need. Let me know if you still have problems. Just that we both have to be on the same page with switch and wire colors. HTH

WOOHOO!!! I'm almost there...got the rear lights to flash!

just need some wires and a diode. the diagram showed me the missing link: 4 way switch also connects to the brake switch wire. it took me a while of staring at it though, then I had an "a-ha" moment. thanks...

it all seems so simple now ;)
